Shot by Shot: The Magic of Moviemaking (2012)

The process of making movie magic is explored in this documentary. Though the production features instructive commentary by many industry professionals, the heart of "Shot by Shot" is the captivating story of film students who are working laboriously on their thesis projects -- short dramatic motion pictures. As these students race against time to finish their final projects, they are haunted by a sobering reality -- if they don't complete their films in time, they don't graduate.

Reflections Trilogy (2024)

This is a video series. Click on the image to see the full playlist.

This series of short films might very well be the last films I make. They are short reflections. The first film features the famous poem “Trees” by Joyce Kilmer. The second film reflects on the absence we discover in empty frames — paintings stolen from Boston’s Gardner Museum. The third film is based on a short prayer by famed poet, philosopher, and playwright Rabindranath Tagore. The three short films are meant to be seen together — one after the other.

Reflection 1 — Trees

Reflection 2 — Absence

Reflection 3 — Forward
